IBK and athletes in action promote workshops

Activities guarantee a great Saturday in Nova Odessa (SP)

São Paulo, February of 2006 – The Instituto Barrichello Kanaan (IBK) and the Athletes in Action organization took 124 children and teenagers, from 12 to 14 years of age, to participate in sporting activities, to have lunch, to watch a lecture and wrap up their Saturday with great fun, on the 11th of February, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, in Nova Odessa, the countryside of São Paulo. The event took place at the camp site of an IBK partner, 80 kilometers away from the city of São Paulo.

The adolescents participate in programs from Projeto Sol and Casa do Zezinho, organization supported by the Institute owned by the famous race car drivers, who  together benefit more than two thousand children and young adults. The benefactors of the pilots’ sports program will form soccer and basketball teams in the outskirts of the south sector of the city of São Paulo.

Athletes in Action provides sports workshops for children and gives technical support to IBK in this endeavor. The idea was to work on family values, emphasizing that not only the winners are champions, but the ones who know  how to work in a team, interact better and take the results of the games well showing a team spirit.
